Who We Are

A Bible-believing, outward-facing Presbyterian Church in Mt Pleasant, MI that’s centered on the Gospel.

Our church in Mt Pleasant proclaims the life-changing gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ. We were once cut off from God’s favor because of our pride, selfishness, and corrupt desires. We deserved death as a penalty for our ungodliness. But while we were spiritually dead, even when we were enemies of God and outsiders, Christ died for us (cf. Romans 5:6-10). There is no longer any condemnation, in this world or the next, for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). This salvation does not rest on our works or worthiness, but instead rests entirely on the merits of Christ and the mercy of God (Titus 3:5). Those who entrust themselves to Jesus Christ are reconciled to God, are set free from sin to live for Him, and are given the promise of new, unending life (Romans 10:13, Ephesians 2:1-10).

Biblical Faith.

The message of the Bible is historical and has real implications for life. We stand in continuity with Christians who have come before us, proclaiming the same gospel and confessing the same faith.

Real Fellowship.

Fellowship is more than a name. We do not want to settle for superficial friendships. We aim for real vitality and warmth in our relationships with one another and with the God who made us.

Missional Fervor.

Apart from God’s mercy, we would still be enslaved to selfish desires and spiritually dead. Our experience of God’s transforming work in our hearts makes us eager to tell people about Jesus.

Fellowship Reformed Church in Mt Pleasant

Our Story

It’s challenging to pin the beginning of Fellowship Reformed Church in Mt Pleasant on any one event. But for years, the elders of University Reformed Church in East Lansing had been praying about planting a church in Mt Pleasant. A number of families had sent children to Mt Pleasant for college at Central Michigan University. But it had been hard for these students to find churches that valued expositional preaching, warm fellowship, outward engagement, and the wealth of biblical, Reformed teaching from the history of the church.

So in 2022, the Lord brought together the pieces that were needed. Devon Rossman, selected to be the church planter, had grown up in Central Michigan. And he had a heart for that region of the state, and for investment in college students. And in Fall 2022, a few families and individuals met for a short Bible Study through Jesus’s high priestly prayer in John 17. At that time, it was confirmed that there were already families in the Mt Pleasant area who were interested to help start a new Reformed Church.

So Pastor Rossman moved to Mt Pleasant with his family in January 2023. And they immediately began holding regular Bible studies in their home. By June 2023, the church had been officially named (Fellowship Reformed Church). And the families of the church began meeting on Sunday evenings in the gallery of Art Reach, in downtown Mt Pleasant. In late summer 2024, Fellowship Reformed Church began Sunday morning worship services at it’s current location, 1730 Pickard St, Mt Pleasant, MI, 48858. The church continues to share a space with the SDA congregation.

We’re excited to see what the Lord continues to do through the ministry of our church in the years ahead!
