In Titus 3:3-7, we're supposed to remember the misery of our sin, see the grace that God has poured out on us through his Son and the Holy Spirit, and to cherish the hope we have as heirs of eternal life.
And as Jesus continues to engage his Church in the great mission of making disciples – as he continues to send us out – he still supplies those whom he sends.
Jesus has died for us, not to make our old sins permissible, but to make our new obedience possible.
The Scriptures press us to humble ourselves under God’s glory, to boast in God’s glory, to eat and drink for God’s glory. We’re told to work toward God’s glory and to speak for God’s glory. We can’t really escape it. Everything is about God and his glory.
Grace, grace, and more grace – sola gratia – grace alone. That’s what God’s putting on display here.
(As one who trusts in Christ,) do joyfully look to the future, knowing that the Everlasting God will transform your grief to gladness?
We need the Spirit of God, working through the Word of God to lead us into the goodness of God.
For people who aren’t mindful of God, loving him and trusting him, but who are instead living for fleshly intimacy, for false idols, for furious individualism, and for futile indulgences – people who practice such things will be cut off from the kingdom.
Be content in knowing that God cares for you and will meet your needs with his daily grace.
