As you’re sent out with God’s grace, glory in the Christian faith. Give generously as someone who has been made rich in Christ’s fullness. And guard the good deposit entrusted to you.
As Christians we face constant temptations and difficulties, but in Jesus Christ we have better things than the world can offer.
Those who desire the glorification of self, those who crave controversy, those who are driven by the love of money – those desires will lead to humiliation, loss, and bankruptcy. But Paul shows us a better way.
Consider the example of the slave, who served his master with love. Only a sense of the love of Christ could produce such a love for one another. Our love is often cold, and unfortunately the world sees that. But here is an example of love that leaves the world stunned. Beloved in Christ, let us love like this—a genuine love that flows from the love of Christ.
Christ has established guidance and governance and goodness for his people, through the care of faithful elders.
Timothy is called to pastor all people in the church, and show them honor as he would fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters. And the church should reflect God's heart by giving honor and dignity to godly widows who have devoted themselves to good works, so that they can continue to serve while being supported by the church.
God desires pastors in his church, as well as the people in the pews to show signs of spiritual maturity over time as they grow in Christ.
The God who upholds the world is especially present to give strength to those who believe.
Despite its humble appearance, Christ's Church is the best group you could ever be a part of.
Faithful church government and church leaders are gifts to us, from Christ himself.
